Welcome

Sunday 27th March 2011

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Bob Kendall and I run Heritage Classic Cars.

The fact that you have found your way here presumably means you are planning a wedding. I hope you are enjoying the experience and not finding it too stressful! Heritage Classic Cars specialises in wedding car hire in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire and we really do want your big day to be extra special. Obviously you want your car to look good and have that wow! factor. But you also want to be sure it arrives in good time and delivers you to the ceremony just a few minutes late. Have a look at the testimonials on the website to see what other couples thought of the service.

Having plugged the wedding hire service, perhaps I should move swiftly on...

If you have browsed through the Heritage Classic Cars website, you will have already gathered that the cars are my pride and joy. Back in the 1920s, the Austin Motor Company built cars of great charm and character. They were also surprisingly technically advanced for their time and were built to exacting standards. It is a tribute to their quality that so many are still running perfectly to this day. However, they still need to be looked after and with a busy summer ahead, now is the time to make sure the winter maintenance work has been completed and the cars are in tip top order. The ivory and black car sailed through its MoT back in January and last Friday, I took the blue and black car for its test. Why does it always rain on MoT days? The car passed the test with flying colours but I now have to wash and polish it again. Sigh! But the main thing is both cars are fully serviced and are raring to go to their first wedding of 2011.

It seems so long since the last wedding, back in November. That was a bitterly cold day! I was wearing several layers of clothing including a thick overcoat yet my teeth were still chattering. The bride wore a sleeveless dress and smiled serenely for the photographs without showing the slightest sign of feeling the cold. I don't know how she managed it and I really admired her fortitude. Hopefully April will bring us sunny, mild weather and the brides who have booked the cars in 2011 won't have to endure such arctic conditions.
